The E, F & GT Register ran their March meeting at Classic Performance Servicing & Dyno on Chapman Road, Hackham. Pat runs the specialist automotive repair shop with her manager, James, apprentice Matt 1 (who loves carburettors) and her team.
Dynos are used to measure the power output of a vehicle. Students in the Automotive Technology program get to use the chassis dyno to learn about different types of tuning software.
Power & Torque

Cooling & Airflow
Before you come in for dyno tuning, make sure you have removed any heat shields from the front of your car that blocks the radiator fans from cooling the engine bay. Also, ensure the hood is closed and the air conditioning is turned on. Dyno testing with the hood open will cause intake air temp target boost compensation, wastegate duty cycle compensation and all other temp-based control settings to work incorrectly. It will affect the power potential you can achieve.
